Mary Whitta VanDagens, LMSW, C-ASWCM, CDP, Founder & Owner

Mary first developed a keen awareness and sensitivity to the issues of aging while growing up in a multi-generational home. Her grandmother lived with her family for over 17 years and was a significant factor in Mary’s interest in the field of gerontology.

Her interest grew further as a student nurse and later as a social work student. Her personal experience as a young aide at a nursing home, and later as a community volunteer coordinating a Meals on Wheels program also played into developing a broader sense and awareness of the needs of seniors.

Professionally, Mary possesses a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Social Work. She has been practicing social work for the better part of 30 years. Since 1992, her specialization has been in the fields of home health care and hospice serving a predominately elderly population. It was work in those fields that further defined for Mary the need for early, proactive intervention with seniors to enhance their quality of life and lessen the risk for a crisis situation. As a result she opened her geriatric care management practice in 2002.

Ms. VanDagens is a solo practitioner who employs the services of a Registered Nurse for case coverage and consultations.
